OBJECTIVES

  • To communicate by media the IAFEI's point of view on accounting and financial issues in order to let IAFEI be considered a referring partner in the economic worldwide process of discussion and evaluation and in order to promote the IAFEI image  
  • To participate in regional or international events on topics of relevance/significance to finance executives with focus on International Accounting Principles
  • To promote researches and studies to enhance the professional development in accounting matters.

  • Examination of IFRS drafts related to:
    • Revenue recognition
    • Leasing
  • Work with the Organizing Committee of the 2013 IAFEI World Congress to prepare for the Workshop Session on International Accounting Principles scheduled in October 2013
  • Pursue others projects & initiatives to be proposed by the IAFEI ExCom and the members of the IFRS Committee

MISSION

  • Make IAFEI the platform for the international networking and further professional development of finance executives with specific focus on Treasury
  • Develop and promote initiatives/programs for member institutes and other allied international organizations for the continuing professional development of their respective members on International Treasury. The initiatives include promoting and sharing best practices in treasury management and such other related undertakings that are of value proposition to the members of member institutes of IAFEI.In a collaborative manner, such programs/projects may be undertaken jointly or in a manner expedient to participating organizations.

ACTIVITIES

  • Organizing/sponsoring/participating in regional or international events on topics of relevance/significance to finance executives with focus on treasury which include Asset Management, Risk Management, Strategic Treasury and Investments, among other things
  • Involving in advocacies that will enhance the international/regional business environment conducive to ethical and best treasury practices and management
  • Promoting/conducting researches/studies to enhance the professional development of treasury management
  • Developing and promoting such other programs/projects for the further professional development of finance executives with focus on treasury management

PUBLICATION/MATERIALS:

  • Counterparty Clearing System in Europe - This presentation explains the new regulation in Europe covering any form of derivative contracts including interest rate, foreign exchange, equity credit and commodity derivatives, and its implications on the capital markets chain of transactions. It also features requirements of non-financial counter-parties for such transactions and institutional updates on ESMA's launch of its first round of consultations for the central clearing of OTC derivatives in the European Union. MISSION

The purpose of the Committee is to get a better understanding of the management controller’s activities, processes, methods and tools used all over the world.

ACTIVITIES

  • Organization of a global annual survey concerning the management controller’s practices all over the world and their evolution
  • Publication of the "International Observatory of Management Control" Special edition of the IAFEI newsletter which includes results of the survey and analysis
  • Promotion of management control best practices through the presentation of the observatory results during the IAFEI world congress and other more country specific congresses.

MISSION

To promote integrity in business transactions whether private, national or international, or while doing business with local of foreign governments.

VISION

To be the most important anti-corruption commission of all NGO´s and financial oriented institutions or associations in the world by promoting and raising awareness about the damage corruption causes to business and world finance by leveling the plain field in business transactions and while participating in public bidding process while corporations make use of worldwide best practices available for anti-corruption compliance.

OBJECTIVES

IAFEI’s Anti-Corruption committee will invite all jurisdictions therein represented to have their own anti-corruption committees by putting together enthusiastic anti-corruption practitioners who will surround themselves of experts on anti-bribery and other types of corruption. Together, all committees will pursue the following objectives:

  • To gather anti-corruption experts and invites to conform their own committee and have representation and autonomy within their financial associations.
  • To have monthly technical sessions to analyze themes and topics related to their finance practice but affected or distorted by bribery, extortion, influence trafficking, kickbacks and similar topics.
  • They will promote anti-corruption best practices locally and nationwide.
  • They will create and upload to their web-page their own anti-corruption toolkit according to the guidelines once approved by IAFEI.
  • They will report to IAFEI´s anti-corruption committee on a yearly basis although having a international mid-year meeting is desired to happen sometime soon.
  • Monthly sessions will also discuss the who gave what to whom and why of public cases that have been ruled and a best practice should arise
