ACTIVITIES
__________________________________________________________________

Japan Association for Chief Financial Officer was established in October 2000.
The Association’s President is Toyoo Gyohten, who is also president of the Institute for International Monetary Affairs. He formally served as the vice-minister of Finance for international Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and then as Chairman of the Board for the Bank of Tokyo.
The Association’s Vice President is Katsushige Kondo, who is also the President of Daiei Holding Corporation.

Future endeavors of the Association will be focused on increasing the number of corporate members supporting its goals, researching and investigating corporate management through practical approaches, developing Japanese-style CFOs who will support the future of corporate man-agement, and improving the capacities of corporate managers. In this manner, the association will endeavor to provide services that will satisfy its members.

Association Activities

The Japan Association for Chief Financial Officer undertakes the investigation and research of practical methods for financial management that will enable Japanese companies to increase their international competitiveness in response to changes in the management envi-ronment. The association consists of a broad range of committees that will actively adopt the counsel of specialists in business, financial, and academic circles. Through a full complement of activi-ties, the association intends to broadly publicize the results of its endeavors. Even as it envisions the prospect of alliances with related foreign institutions, the association will endeavor to establish “global standards” for financial management in Japan.

To develop Japanese-style CFOs who will take leadership positions in Japanese companies, the association plans to offer a variety of CFO accreditation programs and will analyze and carry out surveys on corporate management and finance strategies.
