Activities:

Association Nationale des Directeurs Financiers et de Contrôle de Gestion (DFCG) is one of France's largest associations of financial executives. Membership comprises CFOs, VPs of Finance, Finance Directors, Corporate Controllers from companies of all sizes and across all industries: from CAC 40 companies to small-caps and from publicly traded corporations to privately held companies. Finance and Accounting Professors in academia and consultants in management, accounting, corporate finance and tax are also members. Membership is open to individuals holding senior financial management positions.
Founded in 1964, DFCG represents over 2'800 members in 1'000 companies which account for one third of France's GDP. Its base level is the regional chapter. There are 17 regional chapters which provide a forum for the members to meet and to share the professional issues that confront them daily. Furthermore, the association has created "sector" chapters at a national level: "insurances", "banking", "public sector", "listed companies" and "international" allow members to meet and share relevant topics. Technical committees such as "strategy", "controlling", "financial systems" and "accounting" organize and coordinate the activities of the respective local and/or national work groups. DFCG provides a professional perspective to French public legislative and policymaking bodies and to international regulatory bodies such as the IAASB or the European Commission.
A team of permanent staff, lead by the Executive Director, is based at the head-office in Paris and manages the day-to-day activities of the association. DFCG's mission is:
o to provide forums for peer networking, where ideas and experiences may be exchanged between members in order to develop modern financial management concepts and help develop the professional skills of individual members
o to advocate its views on professional matters and to speak on behalf of the profession to economical, academic, legislative and regulatory bodies
o to develop and build contacts with similar associations around the world
o to contribute directly or indirectly to the varying training programs in all relevant technical domains of the profession.
DFCG is committed to providing regular updates to its members on emerging national and international issues and trends in the profession. These updates are delivered in a variety of formats, such as e-newsletters, the association's Web-TV (see www.finatrium.com) and/or its flagship publication, the monthly magazine "Echanges" - to meet members' individual needs.

DFCG organizes the following national activities:
o Conferences and round-tables: over 200 events per year all over France.
o Training: professional seminars for members only.
o Publications: monthly magazine "Echanges"; books of the "DFCG Collection " published by " Les Editions d'Organisation "; Technical memorandum called "Point de vue".
o Friendly meetings: " get-togethers " between French and foreign Financial Executives.
o Contacts with other associations and institutes: DFCG is a co-founder in 1986 of the "Groupement des Associations Professionnelles de la Finance " (G.P.F.), a grouping of French financial associations.
o International networking: DFCG is a co-founding member in 1969 of the "International Association of Financial Executives Institutes" (IAFEI) and returned after a short interruption in 2005.
o Informations on job offerings: a Job Bank is provided to members and a Resume Bank offers free posting.
o Awards: each year a national prize is awarded to the "CFO of the Year".
