Nominating Committee

Nominating Committee Members

In charge of the nomination process for the election of the new officers, the committee “shall seek the advice and counsel of the Advisory Council and Member Institutes involved in the affairs of the Association as to the acceptability of potential candidates being nominated”, and shall then nominate and recommend candidates to the Board of Directors for election ( IAFEI By-Laws).

She was once a member of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), President of the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) and Chair of the FINEX Foundation.

Dr. Manabat was designated as one of the two representatives of the Asian Financial Executives Institutes with the other from the People’s Republic of China, to the Consultative Advisory Group (CAG) of the International Auditing & Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) and the CAG of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). She is the first woman President of the Philippine Association of Management Accountants (1981-82), a chapter of the US based Institute of Management Accountants (formerly, the National Association of Accountants), the first woman chair of the Board of Accountancy of the Philippines (the regulator of the accounting profession in the country) in 1995-97, first woman Chair to lead for four years (2003-2006) the Philippines’ Capital Market Development Council (a joint undertaking of the regulators and the institutional associations of industry players in the capital market with the Philippine Secretary of Finance as co-chair), and the 2005 - 2006 first woman chair of the International Association of Financial Executives Institutes (IAFEI), another first for this 41 year-old organization.
