ACTIVITIES
Regular Meetings
- Organizes various regular meetings, seminars and forums like the KCFO Annual Conference Monthly, Luncheon Meeting, Monthly CFO Breakfast and Seminars to address key issues and timely appropriate topics facing CFOs, and to provide networking opportunities among members.
Publication
- Publishes research papers and Quarterly Journal “CFO” to supply the knowledge and information related to CFOs.
CFO Award
- Organizes annually the ‘CFO Award Judging Committee’ which screens CFOs from 1,700 listed and non-listed companies which have sales volume of at least KRW 500 billion and profit of KRW 50 billion. The 5 winners of the CFOs of the Year are announced every November, and KCFO hosts the Annual CFO Awards Ceremony in December.
Certification
- Certified Treasury Professionals
KCFO has exclusive licensing agreement for CTP (Certified Treasury Professionals) exam in Korea with AFP of USA. The CTP candidates in Korea are the treasury or finance personnel from top ranked blue chip companies in Korea like Korea Telecom, POSCO, LG Electronics, Shinhan Bank, Goodmorning Securities Co., and certified public accountants (CPAs) of accounting firms.
- Local Treasury Professionals (CTM: Certified Treasury Manager)
Beginning 2008 KCFO certifies local treasury professionals. Last year, 4,950 candidates took the CTM exam and 1,500 CTMs were born last year.
- Local IFRS Professionals (CIM: Certified IFRS Manager)
Beginning 2010 KCFO certifies IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) professionals in Korea. Big 4 accounting firms endorse CIM exam and Korea Economic Daily took the admin of the exam.
- Extensible Business Reporting Language
KCFO played the key role in accelerating the use of XBRL (Extensible Business Reporting Language) and prepared XBRL accounting taxonomy according to Korean GAAP as XBRL Korea Jurisdiction. Since October 2002, KCFO has been designated as an ‘XBRL Korea Jurisdiction’ from ‘XBRL International’ in US.
