The IAFEI Executive Committee is composed of the following Officers:

Chairperson, Interim Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Area President each for Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Americas and Executive Director

Below are the curricula of the Officers for 2011:

Hiroshi Yaguchi (Japan)

Chairman
Hiroshi Yaguchi helped establish the CFO Headquarters Co., Ltd. in 2000 and served as its president. He then co-founded the Japan Association of Chief Financial Officers (JACFO) where he served as a Member of the Board until he was appointed its Executive Director since 2003.
Mr. Yaguchi earned his degree at the University of Tokyo, Department of Economics. He joined Sumitomo Bank in 1989 and became the Deputy Chief of Personnel Department in 1996. He served as the Deputy Manager of Hibiya Branch and was selected as the Deputy Chief of Corporate Department in 1999.
Mr. Yaguchi was born in 1965.

Luis Ortiz-Hidalgo (Mexico)

Interim Vice Chairman and Area President for the Americas
Luis was born on 1950. Married with one son and one daughter. Holds a degree in law and specializes in tax and financial law.
At the beginning of his career, he joined Basham, Ringe y Correa, S.C. in 1970 and since then he has been practicing tax law as advisor and litigator dealing with income tax, value added tax, excise tax and IFRS. As Managing Partner of the Firm he has been involved in preparing the financial statements along with the external auditors.
He was President of the National Association of Corporate Lawyers (1986), has a PHD in tax law, Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City and he also teaches tax law at the same university, has a degree on public finance from the National Autonomous of Mexico University.
He is Chairman of the Tax Practice Group of the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico, A.C., as well as in Lex Mundi, the world’s leading association of independent law firms.
In 2005 he was appointed as The Corporate Lawyer of the year and received the award by the President of the Supreme Court of Justice.
Luis is author of a number of tax and financial articles published in the IMEF Magazine and some others from around the world.
He was Chair of the Tax Committee of the International Bar Association from 1999 to 2001.

Alfredo B. Parungao (Philippines)

Secretary
Alfredo Parungao, a Certified Public Accountant, graduated summa cum laude from the Far Eastern University and attended the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School . He was President of the Financial Executives Institute (Finex) of the Philippines in 1983, and has continued to be actively involved in Finex projects and activities.
Mr. Parungao is a member of numerous boards, which includes the Insular Life Assurance Co., Ltd., the first and the largest Filipino life insurance company in the Philippines , where he also chairs the Budget and Audit Committee. He is the Chief of Staff of the Chairman of the Social Security Commission, the governing body of the Social Security System, the Government-run pension fund for workers in the private sector. He served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Philippine National Oil Company. He has extensive experience in various other fields, such as real estate, telecommunications, manufacturing and the academe. He is a member of the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards Council, the body that promulgates financial reporting standards in the Philippines, in harmony with the International Accounting Standards. He is actively involved and has taken leadership in professional and civic organizations like the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Management Association of the Philippines and the Rotary Club of Makati.
Mr. Parungao is President of his own company, the Ligaya Management Corporation, which is engaged in property development and investments.

Emilio Pagani (Italy)

Treasurer
Emilio Pagani, studied at the Catholic University of Milan with a degree in Economics. He is a certified public accountant, an auditor and a professor. At the beginning of his career in 1970 he was an Accounting and Financial Mathematics professor in a public school. After 4 years he joined thereafter ARTHUR ANDERSEN & CO. as an Auditor. He was the Finance and Control Director in 1984 of the Quaker Oats Group (USA) in Italy. From 1988-1990, he was also the Finance and Control Director of I.S.I. - Industria Saccarifera Italiana Agroindustriale SpA-Padova, the second producer of Sugar in Italy and affiliated companies of Eridania SpA (Ferruzzi Group), partially owned by the Italian Ministry for Agriculture. During that time he is also an Auditor of ASSOZUCCHERO and ASSOCIAZIONE BIETICOLO SACCARIFERA ITALIANA (ABSI). Mr. Pagani was the Administration, Finance and Control Central Director for COIN Group with headquarters in Venice from 1990-1994 and Managing Director of Coin Cinecittà, Sirema, Padana and Lagrange 47. Member of the Board of Directors of numerous companies from 1994 up to September 2006, he was also the CFO of Cementizillo Group headquartered in Padua, one of the most important producer of cement and concrete in Italy.
He is a member of CUOA faculty (Masters Post University Degree) in Altavilla Vicentina for Master in Banking and Entrepreneurship, Management Control and Chief of Financial Office. He was a professor at the University of Padova from 1999 to 2002, the University of Ferrara from 2007 and the University of Venice from 2008 up to now. He is a member of the Committee for CPA qualifying Examinations at the Universities of Venice and Padua.
Mr. Pagani is the past Vice-President of ANDAF (ASSOCIAZIONE NAZIONALE DIRETTORI AMMINISTRATIVI E FINANZIARI) from 1999 to 2005. He served asMember of the Board of Directors in the years 1992 to 2005. He is President for Northern Italy area since 1992 and member of the Advisory Board since 2007.

Liu Changkun (China)

Area President for Asia
Liu Changkun, BA, is the President of China Association of Chief Financial Officers (CACFO). He worked with the Ministry of Finance for most of his career. He became the Director of Department of Personnel and Education of Ministry of Finance; Assistant Finance Minister.
He is the Chairman of Supervisory Board of Key Large State-Owned Enterprises of China.
Mr. Changkun was born on May 8, 1943.

Armand Angeli (France)

Area President for Europe, Middle East and Africa
Armand Angeli is an internationally recognized expert in the field of outsourcing and shared services, and is co-founder and vice-president of EOA (European Outsourcing Association). He is currently Director, Outsourcing Business Development worldwide for Grant Thornton, responsible for strategy, business development and leading international projects. Based in Paris, he is also head of business development for Grant Thornton France. The world’s sixth largest audit and accounting firm, operating in more than 100 countries, Grant Thornton is a leading provider of outsourcing services in finance, accounting, payroll and related consulting and administrative services.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Armand co-founded and developed an independent business process outsourcing advisory firm providing expert consulting services to large corporations. Previously, he was European Business Development Director, Business Process Outsourcing for Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), responsible for business development for the shared services, outsourcing and consulting businesses.
Prior to PWC, Armand held senior level international roles over a 15 year period with multinational corporations including IBM, GE and CASE Corporation. He began his career in sales with IBM and over more than a decade held international management positions in sales, purchasing, IT, internal audit and finance, receiving the IBM France President’s Prize in 1993. He joined GE in 1998, serving as European Financial Controller and Global e-Business Program Manager for General Electric Medical Systems based at the company’s Milwaukee, USA headquarters. At CASE Corporation, Armand was Director Internal Audit and Business Controls, Europe. At Tekelec Corporation he was Director of Finance & Administration responsible for all of the company’s finance, human resources and IT areas. In the course of a varied career, he has successfully directed numerous financial re-structuring, IT, consulting, shared services and BPO projects.
Armand is active in key professional and leadership organizations currently serving as President of DFCG international (the French CFO organization), and President of the 2008 World Congress of Financial Executives (IAFEI in Paris, December) and of the 2009 DFCG national Congress. He is a member of La Fédération Nationale des Cadres Dirigeants (national association of senior executives) and Club de l’Europe (Euro-Politic). He serves on the organizing committees of international finance, HR and outsourcing conferences and is a frequent speaker and quoted regularly in the media. He has also donated time to several educational institutions, sharing practical experiences and evaluating student projects.
Armand holds an MBA from INSEAD (finance & accounting), and a Diploma / Master’s degree in Engineering (electronics) from INSA Lyon. He was awarded a prestigious fellowship and subsequently studied at the Illinois Institute of Technology (Chicago, USA).
Armand holds both French and Italian citizenship and is bi-lingual French-English, and fluent in Italian.

Helmut Schnabel (Germany)

Executive Director
Helmut Schnabel has been actively involved in the Association of Chief Financial Officers Germany (GEFIU) since 1972. He has been and still is the Chairman of the Board of Management of GEFIU since 2002.
In 1969 Mr. Schnabel started his business career by working for a year in American Can Corporation in New York City, USA. He thereafter started his career in the Treasury of Hoechst AG. In 1985 he became Director Credit Secretariat as well as Deputy - Head of Treasury. From 1993 until 1999 he was Head of Group Corporate Finance and a member of supervisory boards of numerous companies and sub-groups of Hoechst Group. Parallel to that, he was member of the board of management for more than ten years of the pension insurance of the employees of Hoechst - Group in Germany, mutual insurance company, where he was head of asset management.
Mr. Schnabel is presently the managing owner of Asecuris Asset Management Advisory GmbH, Frankfurt am Main. This has been created in 2003 through a Management Buy Out from Swiss Re Asset Management Kapitalanlagegesellschaft mbH, Frankfurt am Main. Asecuris is a small financial services company. It advises on and markets external asset management for institutional investors. It’s most important cooperation partner is the US-American financial services group Wells Fargo, for the asset management division of which Asecuris is doing the marketing and client service in central Europe.
